A Paws-itively Perfect Home
Is your home pampering your pooch?
Here are some of our favorite design tips to make life easier for you and your furry friend.
Dogs have been a part of our lives and households for thousands of years, and they deserve to have comfortable spaces in our homes. Happy dog cohabitation begins at the bottom, and by that, we mean the floors. Make sure to choose flooring that stands up to scratches and wet paws. Adding rugs to floors gives Rover some much-needed traction. If you're renovating or building a new home, consider including a mudroom with a bed area, cabinetry with built-in food bowls, and the pinnacle of dog-friendly amenities — a pet wash station!
During the holidays, take precautions to keep furry friends safe from harm: Make sure decorations are out of reach and avoid common toxins, including lilies, holly and mistletoe. Snow and ice can collect between pads, and salt-based snow melts can cause irritation, so be sure to rinse your pet's paws. Or enjoy comic relief by making booties a part of your pup's outdoor routine.
