French 75
Celebrations Begin at Home
Cheers to the return of gatherings with family and friends.
Celebrate with this classic French 75 recipe.
For most people, a home is a cherished destination for creating special memories with family and friends. Gatherings both large and small connect guests to one another and provide hosts a unique mode of expressing their individual style and deep gratitude to those around them.
This is especially true of a housewarming party. After all, what could be more exciting than celebrating the joy of owning a new home? It's a major life milestone that deserves to be acknowledged for the hard work it took to achieve and recognized for the exciting future that lies ahead. A housewarming party also allows the homeowners to present their new abode as an extension of themselves by expressing their interests and personalities through their décor, food and drink. Whether formal or casual, a classic housewarming gives guests the opportunity to tour the property and get to know the people who live there on a deeper, more intimate level. There's no hard-and-fast rule on when a housewarming can be held. What's most important is creating a special event that feels symbolic of the future celebrations that will take place on the premises.
A signature cocktail is a wonderful way to begin any gathering, and for agent Kristen Foote, a refreshing French 75 fits the bill perfectly. While the combination of gin, sugar, citrus and sparkling wine dates back to the mid-1800s, the delicious concoction as it's known today rose to prominence in the 1920s and takes its name from a French field gun popular during World War I. Equal parts posh and timeless, a French 75 is a welcome addition to any fête. Cheers!
